After doing some Skyping with @Rantz I’m suggesting some of us might like to do the evening wine and cheese tasting at Sinclair Gully Wines at Norton Summit (http://www.sinclairsgully.com/)on the Friday night (it’s not available on Saturday). It’s an outdoor twilight thing where you can see blue finches and wallabies at close quarters. Their sparkler is a great bit of dry fizz too! Close to the city, also.
Perhaps some might like to try the Belgian Beer Cafe in Ebenezer Place for Saturday lunch- excellent buckets of mussels, plus continental beers for those who don’t know it already!
I am going to approach Urban Cow in Frome St about showing Plurkers’ photos and artworks around that time as well if anyone would like that- we have a lot of artsy/photoggy people in our group.
Sounds like we’ll have plenty to choose from without burdening ourselves with sitting down at a “conference”!
Go Grumba that sounds like more my sort of event. Semi informal times with a great bunch of people… I am not a crowd person and most definitely not a conference person.
PS Mr Strebor I think you chose the appropriate emoticon as that is what I thought
“I am going to approach Urban Cow in Frome St about showing Plurkers’ photos and artworks around that time as well if anyone would like that- we have a lot of artsy/photoggy people in our group.” Kaye, I like that idea!
Wondering about a theme for the artsy/fotiez show… @Spotrick suggested just “our best/fave” from the previous 12 months. Alternately we could have a colour theme to unite the exhibits or a “proper” theme like portraits, nature, abstracts. The space is such that we could have several each if we did A4 framed to A3 or similar. Please comment!
Unfortunately Urban Cow is all booked up so I am asking a bloke where I have my glass showing if we can have space there for 2 weeks- fingers crossed. It’s just out of the city- about 1km. It will be tricky picking JUST ONE FAVE (or two) from the past year!!
I have emailed Sinclairs Gully Wines now that they have sent me their newsletter, to ask about some sort of event for us around 20th November. I hope we can have a wine tasting picnic with the wildlife under the huge Eucalyptus rubra gums that grow only in that valley. I suggest we get ourselves a minibus if we’re going en masse to consume the delicious local bevvies! The guy is pretty accommodating, so I’ll keep you posted about what transpires.

I like the idea of “our best/fave” from the previous 12 months as suggested by @spotrick. Grand idea, I reckon.

A minibus sounds like a grand idea, Kay, grand idea.
I’m really looking forward to this – I reckon there will be grand times had by many.
Hmmm, that last comment was meant to have a LOT of embedded photographs. Since that failed to work, here is the link to see all my photographs from prior, during and after the Plurkfest Oz 2009 in Adelaide!
